Find the Right NOC Code for Your Canadian Immigration Application

Your NOC code decides whether your work experience counts. Officers assess it against two gates: whether your job satisfies the lead statement for that code, and whether you performed most of its main duties. Your reference letter is the only evidence you have for either.

This matters anywhere your occupation has to be classified — Express Entry, provincial nominee programs, spousal open work permits, LMIA-based work permits, and Canadian Experience Class applications.

NOC Match Pro reads your reference letter and runs both gates against NOC 2021, then returns a Word report you can work from:

  • Lead statement, decomposed. Each element of the official lead statement matched to a direct quote from your letter, with a verdict on each.
  • Duty-by-duty coverage matrix. Every main duty rated Strong, Moderate, Partial or Not demonstrated — with a written reason, and an overall coverage score.
  • Originality check. Duties in your letter that look copied or lightly paraphrased from the NOC website get flagged. Officers notice this, and it makes a letter look manufactured.
  • Alternative codes considered. The closest competing NOCs and a principled reason each was rejected — the reasoning an officer would expect if your choice is questioned.
  • Sample justification text. A first-person rationale with the evidence tables reproduced inline, as a starting point you can adapt and verify.

The report is deliberately blunt. If your letter does not demonstrate a duty, it says so — that is more useful before you submit than after a refusal.

Delivered in two to three minutes. $19 CAD, one time.
